Big Blue and Cousins: The Greater Victoria Personal Computer Users' Association—
BB&C Community Access Program

BB&C Community Access Program

Since our formation in 1982, Big Blue and Cousins has provided its members and guests with BBS communications and, later, access to the internet through its clubhouse computers. Using member equity, the club purchased internet connections and computers. Now, with additional funding provided by the Canadian Government Community Access Program, we have improved our community support.

Launched in 1994, the Community Access Program's goal is to establish up to 10,000 affordable public access Internet sites throughout Canada. CAP has already established more than 4,000 sites in rural and remote communities and it is expanding to include 5,000 urban sites. CAP's affordable access helps people learn about the Internet, develop information technology skills, exchange ideas with others, research information, post community events, and connect to government programs and services. CAP's goals reflect BB&C's long tradition of "Users Helping Users" and we are proud to be a member of the program.

Visit the Canadian Government CAP Site and The South Island Community Access Network for more information on the program.
