Big Blue and Cousins

Members' News—June 2007

by Mary Davie

H ave I missed Spring? I am writing this on the Holiday weekend and there is a gale blowing out there! The hummingbirds are finding it hard to fly and the robins nesting in the hedge near Rithet's Bog are almost losing their chicks to the wind.

Spring has brought BB&C some new members though, and we would like to give them a special welcome to our club. They are Judy Hanson, Fran Urlacher, Jacquelynn Stack, Kim Dignan, Bob and Bev Ashforth, and Colin and Gordon Ramsey. We also welcome back Peter Kappel who was a member from 1997-2002.

We hope you enjoy our group and that you will participate in any way you can to make the club thrive. We all bring special talents to the group either in computer knowledge or in other ways so once you feel familiar and at home, please volunteer.

I would like to congratulate those who send in pictures for the picture of the week on our website. I really enjoy seeing the world through the eyes of our members and look forward to seeing what pictures you have been taking. Send then in to Karin so that she can display them for all to see.

I am sure I have missed a lot of interesting news the last couple of months but family illness has kept me from my regular visits to the Clubhouse and my MIC duties. I like to hear from any members who have interesting news for this column or from anyone who knows of members who are ill and need a message, have a happy event in their lives or an award or recognition that we should know about. Please let me know, as that is what this column is all about.
